Aplicações: MiniMail, FileSpot e Bento

Confesso que sou suficientemente geek para experimentar novas aplicações todos os dias.

As minhas escolhas da semana são:

MiniMail

Licença: Shareware (9$). Trial de 30 dias.

MiniMail is a plugin for Apple’s Mail application. Just as the mini-player in iTunes does for music; MiniMail puts information about your inbox at your fingertips. You can easily see messages as they arrive, and quickly action them. You can resize the window any way you like to conserve as much screen real-estate as possible.

Observações: Excelente para usar em laptops, onde o monitor é mais pequeno. O interface permite apagar, reenviar, responder, alternar entre emails, etc. Visualização dos emails via QuickLook. Pode-se manter acima das demais janelas em funcionamento. Muito bom. Está na minha lista de prováveis compras.

FileSpot

Licença: Shareware (20$). Trial de 30 dias.

FileSpot is an application that provides an enhanced interface to Apple’s Spotlight searching tool found in Mac OS X 10.4. FileSpot allows you to create more powerful searches than is possible using the basic Spotlight interface, while improving usability.

FileSpot was designed not just as a searching tool, but as a utility that keeps recently used documents and applications right at your fingertips. All searches in FileSpot are automatically sorted according to when each items was most recently modified, opened, or created, which means that items that you have worked on recently will be right at the top of the search results. As files are modified, opened, or created, they bubble to the top of the list, keeping them easily accessible.

Observações: Um buscador de ficheiros ou pastas em esteróides. Permite salvar smart searches e etiquetar (tagging) rapidamente os ficheiros que queremos. Bastante flexível e estável. Também testei o HoudahSpot, mas gostei menos (não tem tagging e salva as procuras em ficheiro externo, em vez de ter smart searches.) Está na minha lista de aplicações que possivelmente irei comprar.

Bento

Licença: Comercial (49$). Trial de 30 dias.

Observações: Integra-se lindamente no Mac OS 10.5.2, via iCal e Address Book. Muito sólido e maleável. Visualização em formulário ou em tabela (muito útil!). Uma espécie de FileMaker para tarefas menos complicadas, como organizar aulas ou alunos, inventários de vária índole, organizar o iCal ou o Address Book, etc. Vou testar mais e logo vejo se vale a pena despender 49$.
